Am I the only one finding it very hard to believe there are only 55 days until Xmas?
Usually by this time of year I am finishing off my shopping however it has taken me by surprise & I need to get a wriggle on!

Over the last 6 years I have been juggling many roles & as of this month I have decided to cut myself some slack & try to balance out my life as the Chief Fairy!
In order to do this I have chosen to stop making Hair accessories.

To the best of my knowledge, when g’n’g began we were the only Australian website offering these products. Now there are so many creative ladies making them, it’s time for me to have a rest & concentrate on designing other products & lines.
I ‘may’ occasionally be tempted to play with some ribbons & if so, I will inform via newsletter.

As of the April my turnaround time is now approx 14 days.
I have tried for some time to keep on a 7 day schedule but it's become impossible with the amount of orders & enquiries I receive.

Mother’s Day is fast approaching so please remember to place your orders early to avoid disappointment.

Every purchase over $20* during April will go into a random draw to win a ~ Gold Handstamped Family Tree Pendant ~ valued at $100.00!

Hard to believe we are almost half way through August!

Brrr winter certainly has arrived in WA...coldest winter since I have lived here!
Had to pull my old Sydney jumpers out last week & am considering buying a Parka for myself before I snap freeze :p

Our Handstamped pendants, particularly the Family Tree pendants,have been selling really well. It’s hard to keep up with demand at the moment!
And it has been lovely to see & hear your feedback, thank you very much!

Apologies for the absence of a May Newsletter.
It was a very busy month & time just got away from me!

Lots of New Items have been listed this month.
I am really proud to introduce our Family Tree Pendants.
These are available in Sterling Silver & Gold Filled and they are truly beautiful, one of a kind pieces.

Unfortunately I, like most other businesses, occasionally have to increase my prices.
This will take affect from Monday June 7th or while stock lasts - no reinchecks will apply as some items will be discontinued.
Price rises will not affect hair accessories & some jewellery items.
(The last increase was June 2007 so it has been awhile!)

January is such a busy month for me & it is not until this time of the year I truly

appreciate how much I achieve ☺
Apart from the fact that it is the start of the New Year & we are all recovering from the festive season, it's the only time I get a chance to prepare for the years upcoming Advertising campaigns.
This involves designing the new products, choosing the girls outfits & always trying to visualise what/how I am going to put together the adverts.

But the girls well, they just LOVE doing a GnG shoot ☺
I get continually pestered about when "are they going to model"!
When I see the finished pics, they always make me smile -

they just love each other.

Have been making some new ladies jewellery....

These new wraps are a little simpler in design than our other larger & more detailed ladies wraps.
They are also less expensive because they contain very few silver beads....

This was made in hues of Blue for a dear friends birthday. Not her usual colours but she thinks it's pretty spesh nonetheless & her Mum will be eyeing it off for sure :oP
These Bliss wraps can be made in a variety of colours - either one colour or multi depending on what you require....

I have also just realised that I have not done a New Item update for July!
LOL I am a little embarrassed that it passed me by!

My gorgeous daughter is 8 today!
It's impossible to believe actually, that 8 years ago I had a tiny baby.....& survived it :oP

For the first time ever we are not having a traditional party.
She wanted a sleepover with some of her friends, some pizza & a disco in the shed.
Doesn't get easier than that really does it?

So today I am a little lost with no cake to make (caramel mudcake was requested), no lolly bags to assemble & no food to prepare!

Well I have had some time to myself the last few days.

1. I never drink instant coffee. I haven't for about 10yrs.

2. I am extremely anal. Everything has it's place & it does my head in if my house is messy. I can't function in chaos.

3. I am a one eyed Eagles supporter & although he is no longer an Eagle I often have dreams about Ben Cousins :D

4. I can't watch the news, it makes me feel sick & I suffer insomnia when I hear what humans are capable of doing to each other.

5. I am scared of cows.
On my honeymoon I was driving our ute down a track on a farm when I got jammed in between a herd of cows & the gate. It freaked me out, they look bloody huge when you are very low to the ground. I still haven't lived this one down.

6. I once was a Mermaid.
My eldest daughter believes that I was a mermaid & her Dad a pirate & that's how we met. She has even convinced her schoolmates. They think she is telling porkies until they see my mermaid 'stamp' (tattoo) & then they are believers.
This tale has given my family & friends great mirth.
We also have a book written about us by 2 sisters "Lisa the Mermaid & Mark the Pirate - A TRUE Story".
I am a little nervous about the day when she realises that I have fibbed to her.

They were the deserving winners of the Kidsafe 2008 category from the Consumer Protection Awards for their awesome invention of their Oven Guard.

Some may know that when Judd was 11mths old he suffered 2nd degree burns on his hands from our kitchen stove.
It was a horrific experience & one that no child or family should suffer.

Within 2 days of the accident the Oven guard was in our kitchen & the relief that this would not happen again was enormous.

So huge congratulations to you both, it's so throughly deserved x

My girfriend Tan thinks she's a cack, esp as she keeps dressing Judd up when she minds him.
Nail Polish & make up she always applies, but today she got him in bows & the girls old fairy dress ;o)
We tried to dress him for a Princess party on Friday but he pulled his hair out & just wanted his 'Pirate Pete' shirt on, so I have no idea what bribes she uses to keep him still :oP
Probably chocolate, he'd do ANYTHING for choccy!

A Rose by any other name....

For the last week I have had a new daughter....

The Feral Fairy, formerly known as Bohdi, is now to be known as Rose!

I have been told that Bohdi is just not *pretty* enough for her & Rose is the name of choice.

Not Rosey, Rosey Posey etc - ROSE.

So of course I have indulged her & she smiles wickedly at me as if she has me wrapped around her little finger.
LOL, little does she know that after 7 weeks of holidays I'd call her anything to keep the peace :oP

She has started to tell her friends her name is Rose & she will NOT answer to Bohdi.

It's quite amusing actually to watch the confusion on a 4 yr olds face as they are 'told' by Rose how it's gonna be. Dunno where the bossiness comes from :oP

Smurf just rolls her eyes & plays the game, quietly suggesting to Rose that Bohdi is a much prettier name than Rose ;o)

Alas, she will not budge, so Rose it is, whether we like it or not - well for now anyhow :o)

My Babies one year ago.....

I hope it has been a fabulous beginning for 2008?

We have just been away for a couple of days R & R.

It was spent with very good friends, great food & a little too much wine!!!

LOL Mark & I even managed to watch the fireworks with all 3 of the kids, yes even Judd hung in there :o)

Yesterday was spent beading with my girls....

My friend was sewing & all us girls were just listening to the cockatoos going off outside....it's an awesome sound for those who have not experienced it.

Flocks of hundreds of the squawking birds.....it's noisy & entertaining....not unlike us all the night before :oP

I am a little excited as I have been making some new items over the last couple of weeks!

At this stage one will be released with the new items next week....

The others will be jetted off to some of my little VIP's for their seal of approval....:o)

Busy busy getting my mind around that this Sat will be the 1st of Dec!
Xmas trees & decorations & the dreaded Advent chocolate calendar...

Dreaded because every year without fail, my feralest of Fairies eats ALL the chocolate in one day...no slouch in the choccy department that one :oP

Last week as we were at Target she begged me to buy her one...
I resisted pointing out that she wasn't allowed them anymore cause she eats them all at once.

"I promise I won't' says the FF.
"You said that last year" says the mean Mum.
"oh but Judd would love the Shrek one, see?"

& I turn around & the little minx has given her brother the Shrek advent calendar knowing that if I pried it out of his chubby hands the proverbial will hit the fan!!!

...I am so sorry for the long delay for this update!

This week a couple of gorgeous ladies I know are hosting a Pink Ribbon morning tea to raise money for an awesome cause, here's hoping they raise big $$$$.

I have made a little something for their silent auction.
It's a little different for me but nonetheless it looks fantastic & very PINK!

I have finally decided to change my music to one of my favourite bands, The Weepies.
A little melancholy but sheesh her voice is beautiful!

I actually love the contrast between the masculine phrase on his top & the little pink cousin 'it' disguise.

The girls had book week last week at school & they both went as Pearlie the park fairy....Judd was not missing out on the dress ups!

For those that don't know him, he is a terrible flirt already....& this pic is a classic as he was flirting madly with Karen & Dee :o)

Amazing how charming he can be at 17mths old - I am sure we are in for plenty of chuckles!

I have been busy this month making lots of Made to Match co-ordinates for the new Summer clothing lines....

It is nice to know that I am not the Lone Ranger when it comes to living with one (or two, three & four in some cases :oP)!!!

Just a reminder that it‘s only 3.5months until Xmas & with the upcoming advert in the Summer edition of Studio Bambini, I am certain to be up to my elbows for some weeks ahead :o)

Do you reckon that there is a more annoying sound in the world than persisitent coughing...24/7?

It does my head in yet I am feeling so so sorry for poor Smurf who can't stop!

She had her puffer (twice), cough medicine, vapouriser, vicks everywhere & yet at 2am this morning she was still coughing.

Fortunately for me she is in the next room.....& it appeared the other kids were sleeping through until I hear;

"Murphy stop coughing!"

"I can't!!" croaks Smurf.

"Oh god you are giving me a headache", groans the Feral fairy as she stomps into my room & into my bed!

So again today they are still off school, still unwell & slowly driving me insane :oP

But tomorrow is a new day & my cleaner is coming to kill all the germs, so I am taking the kids out to replenish the depleted stocks & shout them a fresh fruit salad & an Ice Chocolate!

Ahh bring it on......

Man we have been sick - again!!!!

The little vermin have picked up some insidious virus & I have been plastered in boogies for the last 5 days! Joy oh Joy bet you're jealous :oP

Finally yesterday after a very heated battle, the headcold finally gave way to a full body cold & I was knocked out. Not much fun when you have 3 other sick people to care for!

Anyway feeling a little better today & am hammering the vitamins into us (again!) in the hope that it is the last bout we get this year!!!

Hope everyone is OK & not under the weather like us poor sods??

I was digging around today & I found a couple of favourite pics of the girls....
Where has the time gone????

This was when my Oilily addiction began in earnest & I have never recovered!
In Summer 2004 they produced some amazing outfits & I ended up seriously busted :o))))

God I loved these Fred Bare outfits & the pic was typical of Bohdi at that age - we joked in every photo she was eating :o)

& how hot do they look with the boots on?
LOL they wanted to match Santa for our Xmas photos!!!

Last but not least one of my favourite pics of Judd!
I had to prop the little bloke up in the corner of the couch ;o)

I am so glad that I have taken so many pics of the kids & I am rapt that they invented digital cameras!!! Saved me so much money!

My kids love seeing themselves as babies, they can never see enough of themselves, especially on video - little posers!!!

but we have been crook!

Blerky gastro for both Smurf & myself and cause we are so generous a small bout was shared with Mum too!!!

We are back on track & I am hoping to get a new update along with the August (already????) newsletter out early this week.

Anyway cause I am feeling frisky ;P here's one of my fave old funnies...

A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment.
The next week, the man realised that he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight.

Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (AND LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM."

The next morning the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00AM and that he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't awakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed.

The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM. Wake up."

Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

LOL, still cracks me up!

Well Fairies count as Princesses don't they?

& it certainly wouldn't be fair to not include the Feral ones...rofl especially as one THE feralest of them all belongs to me :o)))

As some of my VIP clients know, these little bracelets which I am naming the 'feral fairy jewels' are absolutely perfect for the girls (& boys) who like to dress up! I have also made a new little bow - they are very cute.

Smurf is turning 7....

so she is having a party!

I asked her what sort of party she wanted?
"Mermaid or Unicorn party" she said.
"One or the other" I said.
"Ok, a Unicorn party then Mum".

Beauty I thought, simple & easy. LOL, yeah right!

Have you ever tried to find a unicorn cake tin, or for that matter a horse one?
Fortunately she is considerate, "I'll just have a rainbow cake Mum if you can't make a Unicorn one"!

So I realise that it's 14 days before her birthday & the ettiquette is to send invites out 2 weeks in advance.

So off to the party shop I trot (pardon the pun :o))
"No we don't have Unicorn invites" the lady tells me.
"Right, of course you don't, that would be too simple & hey I just DON'T do simple" I reply defeatedly.

But they do have a Unicorn Pinata, so there is one chore crossed from the list ;o)

So I check the net & yes they have Unicorn invites from a variety of online party stores for a sum of about $6.70 for 10 invites.
BUT they will take around 3-4 days to arrive & heck Miss Anal that would ruin the ettiquette rule :oP

All right I'll fix em, I'll make the bloody things myself!!!
*OK need a graphic, 2 hours later I have one.
*Need to print them, 1 hour later they are printed.
*Um they need to be laminated, 2 hours later after a trip to the PO to BUY a laminator & all invites are cut to size & glittered (don't ask), the first one is laminated.
*Trim laminated invites, Cut bows to size, add Crystal to Unicorns head, glue on velcro & stick magnets on back of each invite, 1 hour.

So for a total of 6 hours I have made 10, yes 10 Unicorn invites.
As I am sitting there doing all this, berating myself for being so Anal & wasting so much time Miss nearly 7 comes up to see the finished product.

"Oh Mummy, they are just beautiful. They are the most beautiful invites you have ever made & thank you so much for doing them for me. I love you", as she wraps me in a huge headlock & kisses my face off.

So in the next couple of weeks as I am buried under a never ending workload of beads, ribbons & Unicorns - I will remember that moment.

Because as busy & tired as I get, her happiness is what drives me everyday.
In fact if it wasn't for her or her blister I would never have purchased that first bracelet or korker.
Would never of started buying those beads & ribbons.....
Would never be where I am now.....

So thank you Smurf, you are Amazing ;o) x

Oh Dear.....My Feral Fairy....

We all have one don't we?
Naughty kids I am referring to :oP

My Miss 4, well she is trouble...
The good old fun loving, belly laugh so hard you pee yourself kind of trouble :o)(I won't mention her wilful, defiant & independent streak, well today anyway!)

B likes to wear 'colourful' clothing & she sure has a wardrobe that caters for her whims!
Today she had dressed herself in well you can see for yourself in the below pics.
I think the boots did it for me ;o)

Early this afternoon Miss B walked into my office & I nearly choked (sorry Adele!) as she had 'make upped' herself....

She is just so yummy this kid, very hard to be cross with her for long cause she's so cute :o)

BUT this was not the end of 'make upped' herself day.....Oh no it couldn't be that simple....

About 2 hours later Miss She Who NEVER listens & her willing accomplice, um we shall call him B the Innocent (BIM) :oP decided that they needed a haircut.....

Sheesh Tan & I SHOULD have noticed that all was quiet out the back!!!
Especially as the last time these two pests were quiet out there, they landscaped my bare patch of lawn, that we had finally got growing after 2 YEARS!!!!
Anyway I digress....

BIM came in first.
His head looked OK, not too noticeable as he mentioned B had 'cut' his hair.
Then we noticed his fringe...it has been thinned out...then we noticed the bald patches....I asked him if B had cut her hair....He said 'yes'...it was then the panic set in....she was still out there with THE scissors....

Man we moved fast!!! LOL
When I first saw her I was so relieved....she still had hair! Then we noticed her shoulders & hands....there was lots of hair...but it didn't seem that she had cut any???
I asked her if she had cut some of her hair...She said 'yes' & then started pulling at her hair....it was coming out in clumps...I kid you not...I am looking through her her hair & it's just falling out!!!

By this stage Tan had completely lost it, I think she may have peed her pants...I was laughing too, it WAS very very funny....but I just kept pulling out all this hair!!!! Her black top & my table were covered in gold hair, it was everywhere.
Anyway I tried to get some photos but I think we were laughing so hard they didn't turn out too flash!

It's days like these that you remember forever.
In some ways I wish there more of them, in others I dread what she (& the pair of them) will do next!

Anyway little Miss Naughty is now at Pillow Point, where no doubt I will find more hair in the morning!!! ROFL
